A bit about this blog...
I'm Mumma McD, hi and welcome to my blog :)
I'm mum to two delightful toddlers - a wickedly contrary Little Miss 3, and cheeky and cheerful Master 1.5, a.k.a. the Stuntman. His nickname is well-deserved and fairly self-explanatory I think. My husband (Mr McD) and I are living the suburban dream in Sydney, Australia, with an actual white picket fence and neighbours who pop over to borrow sugar.
This life is a far cry from our pre-children existence, when we lived in a funky inner-city warehouse apartment, and went out to nightclubs and expensive restaurants and trendy bars after work. It all seems rather self-indulgent now. But bloody hell I miss it sometimes!
I'm not a 'crunchy mum' by any stretch of the imagination, but I do exhibit a few crunchy behaviours. I'm still breastfeeding my 19 month old, and I 'wear' him in my Manduca whenever it's practical. We follow the Baby Led Weaning philosophy, and I also like to make as much of our food from scratch as I can. Oh, and I ate my placenta, but that's another story. However, I'm no good at co-sleeping, and I definitely choose to vaccinate my kids. I believe in choices (except for vaccinating... that should be compulsory!).
The Stuntman has Milk and Soy Protein Intolerance (CMPI / MSPI) which we are working through, so some of this blog is about living dairy-free and soy-free, and I've been experimenting with wholefood cooking (using my thermocooker, Boris the Bellini), so I write about that too. I'm also currently trialling the Paleo lifestyle, so you'll find some recipes and meal plans that are free from gluten, grains, dairy, legumes and refined sugar as well.
But for the most part, this blog is about finding the funny in the mundane, and the general absurdity of raising toddlers.
